Montenegrin daily CdM reported on Tamara Radjenović's first performance in Latin America, held on 23 October 2026 at the Teatro Isauro Martínez in Torreón, Mexico, and described the evening as a major triumph.
The soprano performed with the Camerata de Coahuila symphony orchestra under conductor Ethan Eager and a large choir, with more than 150 musicians on stage. CdM noted that the same orchestra had performed with Andrea Bocelli in Torreón three years earlier.
The first half was devoted to opera, with the “Habanera” from Carmen, “Casta Diva” from Norma, “O mio babbino caro” and “Sempre libera” from La traviata. In the second half she turned to beloved Latin American and Mexican songs, including “Granada”, “Júrame”, “Bésame mucho” and “Historia de un amor”.
According to CdM, the audience gave her four standing ovations and called her back for three encores, remaining on its feet long after the official programme had ended. Before the encores, Tamara thanked the audience for their warmth and hospitality during her first stay in Mexico. Among the guests were local officials and figures from political, diplomatic, business and cultural life, as well as admirers who travelled from other parts of Mexico.
The article also highlighted the coverage in the Mexican daily Milenio, which described the concert as historic for the La Laguna region, and recalled that Tamara was the last student of Montserrat Caballé, a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London and a member of the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.
Her next major engagement is the gala concert “From Opera to Hollywood” at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium in New York on 27 November, with tenor Murat Karahan and the Orchestra of St. Luke's under conductor Darko Butorac.
